Annette Ball

All piano lessons are designed to fit the individual. Whether you are a child or an adult, there are many piano books available and we will work together to achieve your goals, playing the "classics" or "leisure" repertoire. My main aim is for my students to have fun and enjoy their piano playing.

Lessons are 30 minutes long on a weekly or fortnightly basis (subject to availability) and all lessons are taught from my home on a Yamaha grand piano or the Yamaha upright piano if you prefer. If you are an adult with a desire to play the piano, it's never too late to learn. I am sympathetic to students with busy lives and aim to show them how to practise efficiently.

I have a CRB Disclosure Certificate which enables me to work with children and vulnerable people. During the lessons, parents are encouraged to sit in the conservatory/waiting room which is adjacent to the music room.

My preferred examination board is Trinity College London. Although not compulsory, I encourage my students to take examinations, as they are a good way of monitoring progress. Entering examinations, playing in concerts and performing in competitions gives students something to work towards. Playing a musical instrument builds confidence and self-esteem allowing children and adults to share their talent with others.

At present, fees are £18.00 per half hour and all lessons are held in my music room at home. Fees are usually increased by a small amount in April.
