Annette Ball

I gained a BA (Hons) music degree from Bretton Hall College in 1987. I also have the LTCL and DipABRSM diplomas in piano teaching and the ATCL and LRSM diplomas in piano performance.

As well as one-to-one piano tuition, I have worked for the Music Service in Coventry since 1999, teaching the recorder, ukulele, curriculum music, singing assembly and choir in many Coventry schools. I started teaching the piano to undergraduates, Ph.D students and staff at the University of Warwick in April 2024. I am also a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians.

Once a year, I organise a students' concert with a fellow piano teacher, raising money for charity at the same time. In March 2025, our students and their supporters raised the magnificent sum of £610 to be split between the Coventry Resource Centre for the Blind and Brain Tumour Research. We also collected many food items for Coventry Foodbank. Ten trophies were presented to students who worked particularly hard this year and every performer received a small trophy. I also encourage my students to participate in music festivals.

My many interests include playing the cello in two community orchestras, fitness (walking, running and swimming), card making, learning languages, dancing, eating out, going to the cinema and attending the theatre with friends.
